The American Dream - The Spreitler Family

There stands alone, a building on a small hill in the Blair Precinct of Randolph County, Illinois.  A weathered reminder of the days past. Built in 1873 as the Methodist Episcopal Church it has weathered the test of time. She is not much to look at today. Wrapped in her overcoat of tar paper, her arched windows broken, her welcoming entrance a bit twisted but she still stands upon her foundation of stone. We have found no pictures of her in her glory days, no testament to her construction and few who remember her. But for us she holds a special place. She was the church our Jones family members attended.  She is family. Join us on this page as we begin to restore her to the days of old.
